MATTHEW JENKINS JAROSZEWICZ
Matthew Jenkins Jaroszewicz graduated with an MM in Orchestral Conducting from Mannes College of Music in May 2016, where he was a student of David Hayes. Season highlights include Vaughan Williams’ Symphonies No. 2 and No. 5, Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 (Baron Fenwick, soloist), and world premieres of Zach Gulaboff Davis’ Momentum and Faye-Ellen Silverman’s cantata A Free Pen. On May 15, 2016 he made his debut with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra in Shostakovich’s Festive Overture and Bizet’s Overture to Carmen.
Matthew is Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Apotheosis Opera, where he has led productions of Wagner’s Tannhäuser and Puccini’s La Fanciulla del West.
Matthew is a 2012 graduate of Brown University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. He began his conducting career with Brown University Gilbert and Sullivan. He has also directed and conducted his own productions of Vaughan Williams’ operas The Pilgrim’s Progress and Riders to the Sea.
Matthew served as the Music Director of the Wakefield Choral Society in Wakefield, MA, and Organist and Choir Director at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Holliston, MA from 2012 to 2014.
Matthew is a native of Cincinnati, OH, and is an avid skier and competitive swimmer.
