Eric Hayslett
Originally from Virginia, maestro Eric Hayslett moved to the New York City metro area in 2011 and has since become actively involved in the metropolitan area’s community music scene. He has performed regularly with the Queer Urban Orchestra (QUO), the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra, the Richmond County Orchestra, New York Opera Exchange, the New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Repertory Orchestra. He is also a former pit orchestra member for the Broadway show Addams Family.
Eric holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from James Madison University and a Master’s Degree in Music Education from Boston University. Currently, he is enrolled at Rowan University where he is working on his Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership. His prominent conducting tutors include the late Dr. Robert McCashin, Director of Orchestras at James Madison University, and Maestro David Liebowitz, Music Director of the New York Repertory Orchestra. Eric is a founding member and former Music Director of the Richmond Chamber Winds Society and former conductor of the European Wind Ensemble, both based in Richmond, Virginia. In his spare time, he is an active composer and arranger for youth orchestra and wind ensemble literature. Eric is currently the Director of Choirs at Irvington High School in Irvington, NJ, where he is fostering choral and music theater programs. |
