GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. Litha Symphony is proud to be participating in #GivingTuesday this year and every year.

Ticket sales make up just half of our operating budget. The other half comes from support from you—our patrons.

Your generous support will help ensure that we can continue to provide our outstanding classical performances not only for our communities and audiences but for our musicians as well.

For 2023, we plan to extend our outreach to include inviting high school students to perform alongside our orchestra and bringing our Pop-Up series to more neighborhoods outside of Manhattan.
Where does your donation go? The bulk of our annual budget goes towards the cost of renting our rehearsal and performance space. After that, our operations costs take up the next portion (insurance, post office box, this website, etc.).

With enough donations, we can rent newer orchestral works, hire amazing guest artists, and even commission brand-new works from up-and-coming composers in our very own community.

Every donation, big or small, has an enormous impact.

From now until December 31st, we're raising $3,000 to help us fulfill our mission of creating fantastic classical performances for our community and memorable opportunities for our musicians.
These funds will go towards all of our fantastic events in 2023.

How your contributions help:

Litha Symphony is quite unique. Currently, our performance season is only during the summer months. This provides us with an amazing opportunity to create an ensemble with musicians from a wide array of backgrounds—from teachers and students, to professional musicians and hobbyists.

From June through August, we bring the best in classical repertoire to life for our community. Most other ensembles are on break during this time, which opens up the opportunity to fill the summer with accessible classical performances where there would normally be none.
Of course, putting on our season is no easy task. The upfront costs associated with any given performance are steadily on the rise year after year. We rely solely on ticket sales and the generosity of our donors. That funding goes towards renting the rehearsal and performance space, renting music, hiring guest conductors and soloist, and so on.

As with any community organization, there are many facets involved with making sure we run smoothly and with the community's interests in mind. Funding simply isn't enough. We are always working towards building better relationships with our community, our musicians, and our donors. Many of our musicians not only volunteer their musical talents, but their skills at writing, design, catering, accounting, etc.

With your contribution, we're able to expand our programming and offer more opportunities to aspiring young musicians, conductors, and composers. We're able to extend our symphonic literature to include more modern and contemporary compositions representing a larger, more eclectic and diverse pool of composers.

In addition, with your support, we'll be able to have the resources to extend our reach to neighborhoods to present open-air performances as with our Pop-Up series. We'd also like to work with local high schools to create opportunities for aspiring music students to flex their skills in a real-life orchestral setting.
Your support is vital to the health of our orchestra. Thank you for taking the time to read how you can make an impact. We look forward to making great music for you in 2023!
