David Jernigan
A native of North Carolina, David Jernigan currently serves as Organist/Choirmaster at Christ Church, Raleigh, where he oversees a robust choral program. In August of 2018, he conducted their Choristers & Lay Clerks in a full choral residency at St. Paul’s Cathedral, London, a service of Mass Internationale at Notre-Dame de Paris, and a recording with the Floating Earth Company at Jesus College, Cambridge. A frequent recitalist, David has played in many of the world’s most prestigious venues including St. Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Cathedral, and Westminster Abbey, London; the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, and St. Paul’s Chapel of Trinity Wall St., NYC; and the National Cathedral, Washington D.C. He is a regular guest of the North Carolina Symphony and is the founding director of the Raleigh Bach Soloists, a fully professional vocal ensemble dedicated to historically informed performance of Renaissance and Baroque music. David holds degrees in performance from East Carolina and Yale Universities and is proud to count Janette Fishell, Colin Andrews, Martin Jean, and Thomas Murray as his primary teachers.
