AARON BLANKFIELD
A Tennesse native, Aaron Blankfield recently appeared as Dino in the world premiere of A Certain Quiet by Haim Elisha at the Theater for the New City. Earlier this year, he performed in Regina Opera’s production of Il Barbiere di Siviglia as Count Almaviva. In 2014, he sang with Vocal Productions NYC in their productions of Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta as Vaudemont and Der Fliegende Hollӓnder as Der Steuermann and with Fresh Squeezed Opera in the world premiere of La Zombiata by Jillian Flexner as Christolpho. Other performances in the NYC area include Goro in Madama Butterfly with Chelsea Opera and Belmonte in Die Entführung aus dem Serail with Opera Company of Brooklyn. While as an apprentice artist for Sarasota Opera in 2011, he performed in multiple shows including the cover for Judge Danforth in The Crucible and Yamadori in Madama Butterfly. In 2010, Mr. Blankfield was a studio artist with the Florentine Opera where he performed Borsa in Rigoletto and Bully and Dr. Binch in Naxo’s recording of Elmer Gantry. He was also a participant in the Caramoor Music Festival, performing the role of Trabuco in La Forza del Destino and covering Count Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Siviglia. Future engagements include his return to the role of Count Almaviva with Delaware Valley Opera and Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor.
