Celebrate the renewal of spring with An Evening of Chamber Music featuring our own Litha musicians. This evening shines a spotlight on our talented assistant conductors, Christopher Cavaretta and Eric Shen, who will guide us through a captivating program filled with energy, emotion, and beauty.
We'll open with Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 2, a dazzling showcase of virtuosity featuring solos for flute, oboe, violin, and trumpet. Next, immerse yourself in the lush harmonies of Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir de Florence, Op. 70, a tribute to the warmth and vibrancy of Italian culture. The program continues with the colorful and dynamic String Sextet by Martinu, whose inventive style dances between tradition and modernity. Closing our evening is Copland’s iconic Appalachian Spring Suite, a radiant ode to the American spirit, filled with hope and renewal. Come celebrate this season of growth and possibility with us, surrounded by the artistry of chamber music in the beautiful St. John's in the Village. J.S. Bach – Brandenburg Concerto No. 2, BWV 1047
